Dual Immersion

Orangewood Elementary School and Monte Vista Elementary School offer a Dual Language Immersion Program option for families who are interested in providing a biliterate (read, write, speak, and think in English and Español) education for their kindergarten students. Please see the flyer (English or Español) for this program for additional contact information (see new English and Spanish flyers)

Attendance Options

Open Enrollment (Intra-District): Parents/guardians, who have established residency within the district boundaries, may select the district school that their child(ren) will attend regardless of the "neighborhood" school location. This is based on a space available basis. For more information, please contact Student Services (626) 939-4600 ext. 4682.

Transferring Students

Transferring high school students to the West Covina Unified School District will need to bring the following:

  •     Current transcripts and/or grades
  •     Current attendance and discipline records

Parents can obtain these records by contacting the previously attended school.

West Covina complies with California immunization laws. Students must be current on immunizations to attend school. For your convenience, we have provided a list of current requirements at the side of this page as well as links to local clinics where you can ensure compliance. If your child has special circumstances that require an exemption from this ruling, please speak to our district student services staff at (626) 939-4600 ext. 4682 and they will be happy to assist you.
